Week 3 in the 2017 GSBL was full of surprise player performances and a near upset from Team Post. Team Roepke struggled to find offense without their leading scorer in this week’s game. However, several gutty performances from role players assisted in Team Roepke getting a gutty 28-23 victory over Team Post. Team Slattery was the first team to allow Team Alejo 30+ points, but Jared Kobernat played like Superman and Team Slattery pulled away with a 43-34 victory! Team Mayfield found a budding Freshman Phenom in Stephen Rouesche. The White Mamba put in a GSBL season high 23 points in his team’s 38-26 victory over Team Keeton. Team Keeton struggled to find any offense down low, but a high note is the growth of Ricky Friedly. Friedly put in 13 points in the loss and definitely improved is stock in the Freshman Phenom List.

Overall, we were quite impressed with Team Mayfield and Team Slattery. Definitely a two-horse show for right now. Team Roepke DID get the win; but if Team Post is able to push Team Roepke to the brink granted without their top star in Mackay, we are not ready to include Team Roepke as a contender. Team Keeton suffers their first loss of the season to the NOW ONLY undefeated team left in the GSBL. Team Alejo played with the most intensity we have seen all season, but it wasn’t enough as Team Slattery improves to 2-1!
