Team Roepke will be looking to rebound from their loss to Team Mayfield this past Sunday night. Team Captain Adam Roepke will most likely address his team’s inability to make shots late in the 2nd half. The outcome of the game could very easily have been swayed in favor of Team Roepke had they made a couple more shots! We cannot say enough about the Freshman Phenom, Tyler Mackay! He has scored 21 points between the first two games and has yet to show any signs of backing off! Among all the freshman scorers, he is leading the freshman scorers with Tim Monteiro close behind at 20 points. As was mentioned last week, Team Alejo needs to find their offense! In an attempt to jumpstart some much needed offense, Team Captain Mark Alejo made the “Trade of the Century” by shipping three of his bench players and a pair of shoes for Matt Morgan and Kenneth Baltazar! Unfortunately for Team Alejo, they ran into the best defensive team in the league! Rounding out the losing teams was Team Post. Unfortunately for Team Post, they really have ZERO chance of winning a game this season especially after the trade they made. We at GSBC BR feel really bad for players like Ari Hernandez and Pete Scholl who are now stuck with the worst team in the GSBL. We have nothing but high praise for Chad Correia after his “Tom Brady-like” performance off the bench! Also, Ari Hernandez was magical with 6 points in the loss.

As for the winning teams, Team Mayfield is clearly the #1 team in the GSBL! Team Captain Mac Mayfield is playing out of his mind with 29 points through the first two games! Kevin Baker made a huge offensive contribution with 9 points and Team Mayfield will be happy to know that Baker is finally heating up from downtown. Team Keeton played the game of the night on the defensive side! In their first game without Team Captain Brad Keeton, the boys in red held Team Alejo to just 28 points. Off the bench, Caleb Turner hit 2 crazy 3’s that caused him to get over-excited and issue one of the wackiest celebrations that we’ve seen in a long time! Duke Andrade is cementing himself as one of the best power forwards in the GSBL! He had 8 points for the game and generated alot of second chance opportunities! Jordan Lendt added to his impressive start to the GSBL with 10 points bringing his total to 2nd best at 28 points! Team Slattery poured on the offense in a lopsided victory over Team Post. We would have liked to have seen a little more class from Team Slattery as they kept shooting 3’s even after the game was well out of reach for Team Post! We would like to highlight how well Jonathan Reimers played off the bench! It was the BEST bench performance of the season so far with 12 points!
