GSBC Bleacher Report is going to feature a Tuesday spotlight for every team this season in the GSBL. The feature will go in depth on one particular player for every team. GSBC BR will give our analysis on what we saw in the previous week and we will give an honest rating on their offense, defense and effort.

Team Alejo: Moises Perez

  • Perez played under 5 minutes in their game against Team Roepke, but he had an excellent hustle play on a Adam Roepke jumpshot underneath the hoop with the clock winding down in the first half! Unfortunately for him, the referee on the baseline called a foul on what appeared to be a clean block. However, with the foul being called free throws were taken. Unfortunately for Perez, there really wasn’t enough time for him to develop his offense in the game. We did see several decent passes and definitely alot of good defensive plays.
  • Offense: C+
  • Defense: B+
  • Effort: B
  • Overall: B-

Team Post: Pete Scholl

  • Honestly, we were quite surprised at the way Scholl played this past week against Team Keeton. We underranked Pete by a mile and he did everything he had to do to get that ranking back up! Impressive as it was, Pete was producing on defense as well as on offense!
  • Offense: B+
  • Defense: B-
  • Effort: B
  • Overall: B+

Team Keeton: Ricky Friedly

  • Friedly improved 3 spots in our Freshman Phenoms list, but his effort in just the short amount of time that he was given to play is what is so astonishing! Ricky shined on both sides of the ball and even got a basket to drop to finish the game with 2 points off the bench! Due to the injury of Team Captain Brad Keeton, expect Friedly to get a significant more amount of playing time!
  • Offense: B
  • Defense: B
  • Effort: B
  • Overall: B

Team Slattery: Jared Kobernat

  • This young man showed the entire college with what he is capable of on the basketball court! With 8 points in his freshman GSBL debut and a game tying three with less than 10 seconds remaining, Kobernat showed us all that he is going to be extremely fun to watch all season long!
  • Offense: A-
  • Defense: B
  • Effort:B+
  • Overall: A-

Team Mayfield: Luke Hakkei

  • The Hawaiian speedster proved to all of us again that he is a threat on the defensive side of the ball. He had a couple steals in the game against Team Slattery and showed us his offensive side by finishing the game with 2 points!
  • Offense: B
  • Defense: A-
  • Effort: B+
  • Overall: B+

Team Roepke: Nate Patton

  • The big man finished the game with 6 points and played excellent down low! We would like to see him get a little more physical in the trenches, but as far as a first game of the season, he played very well!
  • Offense: A-
  • Defense: B
  • Effort: B
  • Overall: B+
